5 SE C TION 1 – IMPOR T ANT SAFE GU ARDS READ ALL INS TRUC TIONS CAREFULL Y BEFORE USING Y OUR BLEND TEC MACHINE. 1.1 SAFE TY CERTIFIC A TION The ABC, Smoother, and SpaceSav er blenders and accessories ar e certified by ETL to UL standard 763, and to CS A standard C22.

7 SE C TION 2: C OMPONENT O VERVIE W BLENDER MO T OR BASE The blender motor is located within the blender motor base and contains the components which run the blender including the electric motor, drive shaft, and micropr ocessor controlled circuit boar d.

9 2. Remov e blender motor base, sound enclosure components, blender jars, and lids from carton. 3. Unwind the pow er cord. 4. Check f or and remo ve an y packing material which may hav e blocked ventilation holes in either the po wer unit or the black motor stand.
10 4. Slide the power cor d and the motor base into the black plastic motor stand with the touchpad facing the fr ont, fitting the motor base and clear sound enclosure bottom snugly into the motor stand. Extend the cor d out the bottom of the base to its full length.

14 5.6 L ONG- TERM SANIT A TION OF JAR 1. Sanitize jar per local code b y filling the blender jar with a sanitizer diluted to manufactur e’ s specifications. Bleach, properly diluted, can be used. 2. Add 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of liquid chlorine bleach.
